Tax Payment ScheduleProperty Tax statements for tax year 2012, due in 2013, were mailed in January. Property taxes may be paid in full by April 30, or in two installments with the first half due by the last day of February and the second half due by June 15. The tax statement will include three payment coupons, one for a full payment, one for a first half payment and another for a second half payment. Please include the appropriate coupon along with your check.
Tax Lien SaleThe San Juan County Tax Lien Sale is held each year in November. You must be present to participate. Please bring a picture ID and be prepared to sign a W-9 and the county waiver stating you are not related to any parties that are employed by San Juan County.
The 2013 Sale will be held 10 am, Nov. 12, at the San Juan County Courthouse. Public TrusteeThe Public Trustee handles Foreclosures of Deeds of Trust, Releases of Deeds of Trust and Tax Escrow Accounts for Land Purchase Contracts for properties located in San Juan County. The powers, duties and procedures for the operation of the office are defined in Title 38 of the Colorado Revised Statutes.
