The duties of the Clerk and Recorder's Office include the recording, indexing and preserving of permanent public documents, primarily real estate records.

Recording Fees  $11 for the first page
                                 $5 each additional page

The Office of the Clerk and Recorder is responsible for conducting elections in San Juan County.  This includes all National, State, and Town and County local elections.  This Office is also charged with the keeping and maintenance of the Voter Registration List.  Click here to check if you are registered.

The Clerk and Recorder performs services as an agent of the State of Colorado and is responsible for the titling and registration of motor vehicles in San Juan County.  We are also responsible for the collection of taxes and fees as set by Colorado law.

Secure and verifiable ID is required for all titles, registrations, and permits.
