The County Administrator is responsible for implementing policies set by the Board of County Commissioners and recommending improved management practices. The County Administrator also coordinates and maintains relations with other jurisdictions and agencies, responds to citizen inquiries, schedules public hearings, manages advisory boards and committees, developes and balances the annual budget, and oversees the day-to-day operations of the county.

As San Juan County is very small, this position is the extent of the County's Administrative staff.
